The Papers Index is a selective index of articles, mainly of local interest to Christchurch and Canterbury, published in local newspapers.
Papers covered by the Papers Index are:
• The Press urban edition from 2 January 1995 to 31 December 2022.
• Christchurch Star from 14 October 1998 to 9 September 2005.
• The Star Midweek from 14 September 2005 to 23 March 2011 and The Star Weekender from 25 January 2005 to 18 February 2011, when they were combined in The Star, which is indexed from 25 February 2011.
• Christchurch Mail, where some articles from some editions were indexed from 18 July 1991 to 16 April 2015.
Some articles published in The Press in the 1980s have been indexed from clippings.
